Published under the careful guidance of BRP Redfield Fellow Kellee Morgado, the Type Specimen Book is the result of a four-year labor of love. With the help of faculty, student workers, and volunteers, the rich, varied and historical collection of typefaces at the Black Rock Press is commemorated in these thoughtfully designed pages. type specimen process book (2019)
The process book was a result of not wanting to toss all the awesome proofs, notes, diagrams, spec sheets, color matching swatches, and binding scraps from the original edition. These saved parts were assembled into a ‘scrap book’ to archive the process of making the edition.
