in cahoots residency (2019)
In Cahoots Residency is the manifestation of a long time dream of artist and letterpress printer Macy Chadwick of In Cahoots Press. In Cahoots Residency provides housing and studio space to both emerging and professional artists in a variety of mediums, with a focus on artists books, letterpress, printmaking, writing, and collaboration. The starting point on this project was finding a relationship to the existing identity of In Cahoots Press. The use of brackets (the mark for In Cahoots Press) was adapted and integrated into the resulting logotype. The bracketed O acts as both the mark and a container. The brackets suggest collaboration with two pieces that reflect each other while they expand to create space for words and ideas.
